Client Challenge
M&E and Gaming industries has had a rapidly increasing adoption of cloud solutions to improve their workflows. There was a need of a multi-region and multi-cloud solution to integrate both workstations and render farms in a optimized configuration for artists to work remotely, for data to be kept secure within company network and to take advantage of cloud resources, to accelerate on demand slow processes like renders and to allow Artist to work remotely without compromising security.
Solution Delivered
Multi tenant solution, allowing quick deployment of the core infrastructure on customer accounts and fast onboarding. Main components are: Foundational infrastructure Terraform modules required to convert a cloud region into a company site. Examples are VPNs and Active Directory connectors to Custom Gateways used by remote desktop protocols to provide high performance connectivity (low latency and high refresh rate) to remote users' workstations. A web platform to expose management over some dynamic cloud resources for admins, usually compute from different CSPs like AWS EC2 or Azure AVD) Flexible design to allow integration ranging from different cloud services required by customers or on premise resources.
Project Results
- Enabled companies to extend their hiring regions across all the world, improving availability of resources and revenue
- Improved render times on all artists workflows by moving them to global render farms directly connected to the data sources
- Reduced hardware cost by efficiently using high end hardware in the cloud and avoiding the logistics and laptops maintenance
- Prevented data leaks by maintaining companies IP in their hybrid network, and only allowing employees to access it through industry-standard remote protocols designed to be both efficient and secure
